Comments: Best of '78 included a record 17 tracks, with no fewer than nine on side 1 alone! Which is perhaps not too surprising given that a couple of selections were from late 1977, "Floral Dance" and "Mull Of Kintyre" pulled from that December's volume 63. As with the previous year, cover shot and poster both come from the same shoot. In fact it's the same session which provided the cover for Volume 67 earlier in the year. For some reason, the image on the cover was heavily tinted, giving the appearance of a severe suntan. Maybe they wanted to differentiate it from Volume 67 (but then, why use it?) - or maybe it was the fashion; 1978 was the year that Friedrich Wolff took out a US patent on the sunbed. See here for all known photos from the shoot. |
