Sleeve notes:

Well Guys and Dolls, are you ready for this… The best, the latest and the greatest musical extravaganza from 1981. The sounds that made the top of the charts, the sounds that made summer special, autumn memorable and spring unforgettable. The sounds that kept the winter cold away…

Yes, it’s Pickwick’s Best Top Of The Pops from 1981 complete with full size stunning colour poster to grace your walls.

Don’t miss out on this superb collection.

Invest in this end of the year treat.

It’s quite a feat.

So don’t retreat.

1981 was so much fun remember it with Pickwick’s Top of the Pops.

Comments: There are three tracks on the album which were not included in the main series: "Jealous Guy", "Shaddap Your Face" and "Japanese Boy". All had been number 1 in the charts.

Once again the poster features a shot from the same session as the cover image.

Springbok 57

Picture

Pictured left is volume 57 of the South African "Springbok" series. These are albums of hit covers, much like Top of the Pops, and released on the MFP label.

The cover art is strikingly similar to the calendar-poster in Best of Top of the Pops '81. It could conceivably be the same model in different clothes - it's hard to say.

The Springbok LP came out in late-1981, probably before Best of Top of the Pops.

Solid Gold

Tracks from this LP also appear on the following album:

Solid Gold: 20 Non-stop Chart Hits:
  • Japanese Boy
