This album collected together tracks from Volumes 38 to 44, ie mid-1974 to mid-1975. The cover image shows a
blurred motorcyclist, apparently in flames, and is copyrighted 1975.
The album was released on Mr Pickwick, with the standard MPD catalogue number - but the system is confusing; not only are the known Top of the Pops-related albums out of numerical sequence, but this LP carries adverts for other albums on the back, with catalogue numbers such as MPD 552 and MPD 249, which one might have reasoned would be much later releases. (Incidentally, MPD probably stands for Mr Pickwick Disque).
Note also, the act is creditted here as "Tops" of the Poppers. The sleeve notes translate (very approximately!) as, "The English Top of the Poppers LP collections are the world's best sellers. They are recorded with skill and are great successes in current pop music."
