New Zealand Volume 17 (SHM 740)
The first confirmed LP from New Zealand is volume 17, which
coincidentally or not, was the first in the UK to appear in the main LP
charts. The sleeve makes it look very much like the UK edition,
except for the Hoghton Hughes inscription at the foot of the back cover. It even has Pickwick and Hallmark logos, and the UK catalogue
number SHM 740.But inside, the LP is pressed on New Zealand's Maestro label, who are
entirely unmentioned on the cover.
(This leads to confusion when researching New Zealand releases, for albums will be listed in good faith as Pickwick or Hallmark when in fact they are not.)
Maestro use a black and white label design, and interestingly have credited this LP to "Various". How many of these exist is unknown but research is continuing.
