Spain Volume 18 (85.046)
The Spanish edition of Volume 18 is particularly notable for the fact that one of the tracks has been changed. Out
goes "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" from the end of side 1, and in comes
"I Am... I Said", pulled from Volume 17. (It is not believed that Volume 17 was released in Spain.)
To accommodate the switch, the entire title panel has been re-drawn in a different typeface.
According to the sleeve, the pressing responsibility has been transfered from Discos Vergara to Ariola Eurodisc, who were set up by the German Ariola company in 1970, for the Spanish territory. (The company also had other branches in other European countries.) This switch might well have caused a delay in releases, and Volume 17 could therefore have been a casualty of the switch.
The vinyl is again particularly thick, and the label orange Hallmark.
The notice in El Mundo de los Discos appeared on 29 January, 1972 and covers Volume 19 as well. It is telling that although Volumes 15 and 16 were reported in the paper, Volume 17 was skipped - further evidence that it was not released in Spain.
