Sleeve notes:

Hello again, Pop-Pickers, here’s yet another TOP OF THE POPS, the great L.P. from Pickwick - and this is Volume 45! TOP OF THE POPS is packed with 12 of the newest, grooviest, top POP hits! So don’t fight it, let yourself go! Get your toes tapping, your fingers snapping, your hips swinging, your vocal chords singing. Relax, get moving, switch on that record player... turn it all on, but remember to turn on TOP OF THE POPS.

*TOP OF THE POPS 45 is great... as long as you remember to play it at 33 1/3 (r.p.m.)!!

Comments: This album contains a legendary recording: "Autobahn". It was Kraftwerk's debut hit from their fourth album trimmed down from its original 22 minutes for hit single status. Top of the Pops had to tackle it, and Bruce Baxter took to the task, requisitioning a state-of-the-art ARP 2500 synthesiser. With Tony Rivers delivering the vocal (perilously close to The Beach Boys), Top of the Pops pull off one of their most admired and celebrated period recordings, a brilliantly executed piece of work which has won a stream of accolades, and rightly so.

On the cover we are welcomed by German model Katya Wyeth, who was recalled after a gap of 22 editions.
