This is volume 48 of the World's largest selling, regularly released L.P... and it's great, GREAT, GREAT! 12 popping, topping hit songs to swing to, cling to, or simply sing to; to tap to, clap to, or set your cap to. All the family love Top of the Pops - tots 'n' teens, twenties, forties and in-betweens, Mums 'n' Dads and Grandpapas... even your pet (you bet)! Hey, and did you know that Top of the Pops is also available on cassette and 8-track cartridge if you like to play that way. TOP OF THE POPS - 12 up-to-the-minute hits from PICKWICK |
Comments: The Who’s Pete Townshend once mentioned that his favourite ever single was Abba's "SOS", commenting that, "It embodies all northern European folk music and wistfulness. And it refers to war, emergency, loss. A real white man’s blues". Well, that’s one way of looking at it I suppose.
Our cover model here is one Beverley Pilkington, an occasional page 3 girl who is well known for her modelling role on the Big D nuts dispensers. You know the ones—buy a bag of nuts, pull it off the card and see another couple of inches of Beverley’s torso. Top of the Pops just loved her cheery smile, bringing her back for volumes 53, 55 and 61 as well as a couple of calendars.
