USA "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" (SPC 3509)
This LP is named after the hit recording by Elton John, of which an imitation version appears - the same version as on Top of the Pops volume 42. There are two other Top of the Pops tracks on the set, which runs to a meagre nine tracks - just four are included on side 1, much fewer than would be acceptable on a UK album from the era.
The rest of the tracks (listed on the LP cover above) do not feature in the Top of the Pops series. ("Everlasting Love" is not the same song as appears on the later volume 68.) The bona-fide Top of the Pops recordings are as follows:
All of the tracks on the album entered the Billboard charts in October, November and December 1974. Since the record itself is dated 1974, we can assume it was issued in December of that year, contemporary with Top of the Pops volume 42.
