Australia "The Best of Top of the Tots" (2-398031)
We believe this record dates to 1975, and the track listing reveals it to be not quite a 'best-of', but a double LP re-issue of "Tots" volumes 1 and 2!
Amazingly, it was issued by mfp, as part of their 'Two of a Kind' series, and the small print says it was distributed by Summit Records, which is a little confusing. In any case we know the two labels were sharing the same offices in Australia by now, so the cross-over isn't so surprising after all.
The cover art is, of course, from Volume 3, which Summit had also issued.
The double album came in a single album sleeve, with two LPs, each in a plain paper inner, slipped inside. The labels are the usual-looking red/orange mfp design - it will be noted of course that Summit had been using the same basic design themselves, but printed in blue.
Years later, the two component albums would be issued in the UK as a double-pack, but on cassette only. This double LP is, so far as we know, unique.
